Intended for issue to Junior Officer's and specialized forces such as Pioneers and Sappers this model was produced with the old series side lock (action) which resembled having been converted from Flintlock and in 1842 was replaced by the more commonly encountered Lovell's style lock

brass patch box cover and butt plate but most interestingly this particular Fusil has a brass guard along the under side of the butt extending from the trigger guard all the way to the butt plate

This is a nice example of the Remington M 1875 Single Action Army Revolver. It still has its original 7 1 2" barrel in place, but has had a custom front sight made from an 1875 dated penny. It comes complete with a very nice period Gun Cartridge belt and holster. The rounded shape of the penny sight would reduce the chances of getting snagged on the holster.
