This is a lovely Merriam knapsack utilized during the Spanish American War. This example has a great inspection stamp on the interior which dates it to 1898, perfect for SAW issue. There are very faint markings in pencil on the front, the first line of which reads Co. A, but the rest is too faint to read. The straps are in fair condition but there are some pieces missing.
