This is the Russian AO 2. 5, a high explosive (HE), anti personnel (AP), fragmentation submunition was originally manufactured in 1941. The casing is very thick (approx 15mm) and is made of cast iron. The explosive filling was TNT which is approximately 8% of the total weight of the submunition.
