This just came out of the attic after a hundred years of storage, together with a couple of hundred other guns. This is an octagonal barreled Rifled "Kentucky" style rifle, which more correctly is known as a Pennsylvania Rifle. This example is actually made using a BRITISH TRADE back action percussion lock mechanism marked ATKINSON WARRANTED on the lock plate. This lock was made by Joseph Atkinson of Lancaster,
