Constructed of gilded bronze with multi coloured enamels, on loop for suspension, consisting of a Cross Patte, the obverse with black and white enameled arms, with a central red enameled medallion bearing an inscription of TREU DEM VATERLAND (FAITHFUL TO THE FATHERLAND), the reverse DEUTSCHES BEKENNTNIS KREUZ (GERMAN CONFESSION CROSS), unmarked, measuring 44. 04 mm (w) x 38. 33 mm (h), weighing 19. 9 grams, in near
